USTDA awards contract for infrastructure definitional mission (El Salvador)
2011-03-28

The US Trade & Development Agency USTDA has awarded a contract to US-based consultancy firm ACA Associates for a definitional mission (DM) to provide advisory and assistance for transport infrastructure modernization projects in El Salvador.

National ports operator Cepa had requested funding for at least three studies related to the development of transportation infrastructure in the country.

The projects include modernizing the El Salvador and Ilopango international airports, located near to and in San Salvador, modernizing the Acajutla and La Unión ports, and re-establishing passenger and freight services on the country's rail network.

ACA has until May 15 to submit the DM report, which will contain information to determine whether USTDA should grant funding, assess any alternative studies or activities and develop terms of reference and budgets.

The consultancy is budgeted at US$40,000, according to the USTDA website.
