Brazil's Suape port in northeastern Pernambuco state is holding a tender to carry out dredging and demolition work in the port's external access canal, a port spokesperson told BNamericas.
"The bid submission deadline has been set for April 12," the spokesperson said, declining to provide an estimated budget for the work.
More details can be obtained by contacting the port authority, the official added.
The work is part of expansion plans for both the industrial and port area at Suape. Other upcoming projects include the opening of state-run energy company Petrobras' US$12bn Abreu e Lima oil refinery, Fiat's 3bn-real (US$1.82bn) auto plant and a 1.5bn-real petrochemical complex.
Located 60km from Recife and covering a total area of 13,500ha, Suape port currently has five berths.
