Domestic cement sales up 9.1% in January (Brazil)

Brazil's domestic cement sales in January totaled 4.7Mt, up 9.1% year-on-year, national cement industry association SNIC said in a release.

 

Sales per working day in January averaged 204,200t, rising 6.7% year-over-year.

 

The country's southeastern region sold the most cement in January, with sales reaching 2.26Mt, followed by the northeast, where 965,000t were sold.

 

From February 2010 to January 2011, sales totaled 59.3Mt, representing an increase of 14.4% compared to the same period for 2009-2010.

 

For full-year 2010, cement sales totaled 59.0Mt.
