Argentina's La Rioja provincial road authority has received two technical offers for a 433mn-peso (US$108mn) tender to pave the Quebrada Santo Domingo-Pircas Negras highway, which connects with neighboring Chile.
The two bidders were a group formed of Benito Roggio and Vialman, and the construction firm José Cartellone, according to a provincial government release.
The project, to be financed by the national road authority, consists of paving 77km of the Quebrada Santo Domingo-Pircas Negras section of national highway 76, located in Vinchina department. Work will be carried out on the last stretch of the highway, which links to the Chilean border.
The provincial road authority will evaluate the offers and award the tender at the beginning of March, and expects work to start in May or June, according provincial road authority head Miguel Bertolino.
The project is expected to take 38 months to complete.
