2011-01-11
Costa Rica's state refiner Recope has launched bidding to expand the Moin Caribbean terminal, which will cost an estimated US$92.3mn, according to company documents.

Offers are due March 28 and the winner will have 780 days to complete works and 200 days for adverse climatic conditions.

The project entails dredging, extending the northern breakwater 200m, building two land and two sea docks, and a loading platform. The improvements will allow the port to handle vessels of up to 80,000t from 60,000t.

Participants must demonstrate that they have carried out similar projects with a minimum vessel capacity of 40,000t, among other requirements.
