Brazil's transport infrastructure department (DNIT) has called two tenders valued at 40mn reais (US$23.6mn) to pave a 49.8km stretch of federal highway BR-316 in northeastern Alagoas state.
One tender, budgeted at 27mn reais, involves work on a 35.2km stretch, while the other, set at 12.9mn reais, entails carrying out work on a 14.6km section.
Interested firms or consortiums can request clarifications until January 10 and proposals are scheduled to be opened January 18, according to a procurement notice published on the DNIT website.
Once service orders are signed, the winning bidders will have 365 days to complete work.
In all, highway BR-316 spans some 2,052km, running through five states. The route begins in Para state capital Belem and ends in Alagoas state capital Maceio.
