Brazil's transport infrastructure department (DNIT) has launched three tenders worth a total 84.3mn reais (US$50mn) for roadworks in the states of Rondonia and Goias.

The first tender, set at 75.3mn reais, involves work on federal highway BR-364 in the northern state of Rondonia. The awardee will have to carry out civil construction works to improve an 8.5km stretch of the highway near the city of Ji-Parana. Work must be completed within 12 months.

Interested companies or consortiums can request clarifications until December 19 and proposals are scheduled to be opened December 29, according to a procurement notice published on the DNIT website.

In the midwestern state of Goias, the authority has called two maintenance tenders. The winning contractors will need to maintain and restore their road stretches for a period of two years.

One tender, valued at 4.63mn reais, entails a 79.5km stretch of federal highway BR-364, according to DNIT's bidding document.

The other tender is for a 43.5km stretch of federal highway BR-080. It is budgeted at 4.35mn reais, the authority's tender notice said.

Clarifications for both maintenance tenders can be requested until January 8 and bids will be opened January 18.
