Four bidders vying for US$23mn Colon road stretches (Panama)

Panama's public works ministry (MOP) has received four bids for a tender to build three road stretches in the Costa Abajo district of Caribbean Colon province.

 

Costa Rica's Constructora Meco presented the lowest bid, offering US$20.6mn for the project, which had a reference price of US$22.9mn, MOP reported on its website.

 

Globetec Panama had the highest offer of US$25mn, while Constructora Urbana (Cusa) and Condotte Panama bid US$22.7mn and US$24mn respectively.

 

Work includes construction and three years of maintenance on the Cuipo-La Encantada-El Guabo, Achiote-Caño Quebrado and Escobal-Cuipo roadways, as well as paving and building road bridges.
