Bolivia's public works, services and housing ministry (MOPSV) will allocate US$500mn of its 2011 budget to highway projects, according to minister Walter Delgadillo.
The ministry will spend at least US$700mn, or 90% of its 2010 budget, through December, state news agency ABI reported.
Construction of new highways accounted for the majority of the ministry's investment this year, Delgadillo said, adding that the ministry also used funds to build more than 13,000 homes during the year.
Bolivia's general aviation authority (DGAC) has spent 92% of its 24mn-boliviano (US$3.42mn) budget for 2010, ABI said in a separate report.
The investment, which represents a growth of 6% from 2009, mainly went towards building new offices and remodeling a 1,200m2 hangar at Santa Cruz airport in the department of the same name.
