ENP requesting 6% budget increase for 2011 (Honduras)
2010-11-12
Honduras' national ports authority (ENP) has requested a 6% budget increase for 2011, improving on the 1.6bn lempiras (US$344mn) it was allocated in 2010.

The authority plans to invest the additional funds in the Castilla Caribbean port, the congressional website reported.

ENP will present its strategic plan to congress in the next few days, after which the legislature will consider the request.

While the port authority's budget it set to increase, national water authority Sanaa will have a lower budget in 2011, owing to the fact that it has invested only 70% of its 1.39bn-lempira budget this year, the report said.

The authority is requesting an allocation of 1.35bn lempiras for 2011.
