Colombian city Cali's public transport company Metrocali has launched an international tender to build the Cabecera Sameco bus terminal and complementary works for the city's mass transport system.
The project includes construction of exclusive bus lanes, mixed traffic lanes and an administrative building as well as expanding the roadway accessing the terminal. Work should be completed in 11 months.
Interested firms have until December 9 to present offers, which will be opened the same day, according to a procurement notice published on the Metrocali website, which did not specify a budget for the project.
IDB is financing the initiative through a US$200mn loan approved in 2005 to support the city's integrated public transport system.
