Fernandez opens US$54mn San Cristobal-Bani highway (Dominican Republic)
2010-09-17
The Dominican Republic's President Leonel Fernandez has opened the expanded San Cristobal-Bani highway in the country's southern region, the presidential website reported.

The project, which cost 2bn pesos (US$54.1mn), involved upgrading the highway and expanding it from two to four lanes, as well as building bridges and installing signage.

The work was carried out by local construction firms JM and Malespin.

The 28km highway connects San Cristobal province's capital city of the same name with Bani, the capital of neighboring Peravia province.
