Brazil's logistics infrastructure will receive 18bn reais (US$10.5bn) in public funding during 2011 under phase II of the national growth acceleration plan (PAC).
The amount is 16.1% more than the 15.5bn reais spent on logistics this year, news service Agencia Estado reported.
The total 2011 budget for PAC II is 43.5bn reais, a 36.8% increase over 2010 spending, according to the planning ministry.
Of the total budget, 444mn reais will be used for projects related to the 2014 World Cup, and 1.1bn reais for the 2016 Olympics, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, the report said.
