Paraguay's public works and communications ministry (MOPC) will participate in a forum designed to promote public-private partnerships (PPP) in infrastructure development to be held on August 31.
The event will bring together international experts on concession models to discuss private investment in public infrastructure, paper La Nacion reported.
Much of the focus will be on airport concessions, as privatization plans have met resistance from various sectors including labor unions and civil aeronautics agency Dinac.
Along with airports, MOPC plans to concession highways, including Troncal II, Naranjal and Rutas 1, 2 and 6, as well as potable water and sanitations systems, the report said.
The forum is being carried out with the support of MOPC, the industry and commerce ministry, IDB, business groups, and the country's import and export network (Rediex).
