Congress approves PPP law (Honduras)
2010-08-13
Honduras' national congress has approved a new public-private partnership (PPP) law, which aims to promote joint private and state investment, congress reported on its website.

Legislators expect the new law to boost development and cut down on corruption affecting public works projects.

The new law could spur development of several different infrastructure projects in the near future, including the expansion of Cortes port, the country's main terminal on the Caribbean coast, local press reported.

The expansion of the Progreso-Tela-La Ceiba highway is another project that could be carried out through public-private investment, the report said.
